Job Description:
Our client, a well-established law firm in Tampa, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with 3+ years of construction litigation experience to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will focus on pre-suit matters, including case investigation, development, mediation, and arbitration. This is an exciting opportunity for a paralegal with a strong background in construction law to contribute to high-stakes legal matters while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of construction litigation, focusing primarily on pre-suit matters.
- Conduct thorough investigations into potential cases, gathering facts, documents, and other necessary evidence to support case development.
- Help with the preparation of mediation and arbitration materials, including drafting and organizing evidence, exhibits, and legal documents.
- Coordinate with clients, experts, and witnesses to gather information and support the case.
- Assist with preparing and reviewing construction contracts, agreements, and other related documentation.
- Manage the case file and organize documents for easy access during litigation proceedings.
- Provide case updates to attorneys and clients, ensuring efficient case management and communication.
- Prepare and file legal documents, including demand letters, complaints, and responses.
- Assist with trial preparation as needed, ensuring that all required documentation and evidence are organized and ready.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in construction litigation.
- Strong knowledge of construction law, including contracts, defects, claims, and dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficient in legal research, drafting, and preparing legal documents.
- Experience with case management software and document management systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, experts, and attorneys.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
